 From Bayeux you can admire the beaches with their fascinating history, the D-Day museums, the war cemeteries, as well as Bayeux’ own heritage which has been miraculously preserved. You’ll find a wealth of variety, a cuisine that’s full of the delicacies of Normandy, historic mansions, Queen Matilda’s famous Tapestry, the Cathedral, the famous Bayeux Lace conservatoire, water mills, the banks of the Aure river (the river that crosses Bayeux), and castles and abbeys in the region around.
